During my time as a Montessori primary teacher and a Montessori teacher trainer I have seen the difference a Montessori teacher can make in the lives of the children, and for themselves. Each year on our last day of class, the faculty of AMTEI and the adult learners gather in a circle and share thoughts on the past school year at the Adrian Montessori Teacher Education Institute. The heartfelt emotions shared recently include: “I have earned the education and teaching certificate that will allow me to have a full time job and take care of my family.” “I had a very difficult time in school when I was growing up because of learning disabilities. Now I can help students like me learn to like school and love learning.” “The support and friendships I have made at AMTEI have given me the confidence to believe in myself.” “I am going to make a difference in the world!”

The Adrian Montessori Teacher Education Institute is a nonprofit program dedicated to promoting the Montessori movement through quality teacher education. Donations to our Legacy Fund make tuition affordable to those who desire an Early Childhood Montessori credential but would be unable to attend the program without financial aid. We strive to provide this opportunity for all who desire to become a Montessori teacher. We can only achieve our goals with the help of generous donations from supporters and community members. With their support we have been able to offer scholarships to potential Montessori adult learners who have changed their lives and the lives of the children they teach.
